Domestic Violence Response Team

The Northern Burlington County Domestic Violence Response Team, in collaboration with the Mansfield Township Police Department and Providence House, is seeking volunteers to serve victims of domestic violence in Mansfield, Chesterfield, North Hanover, Bordentown, Bordentown City, and Springfield.

Volunteers will receive training (40 hours conducted over an 8 week period) to assist victims of domestic violence in a variety of ways, ultimately providing support and information to help them make informed decisions about the options available to them.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be a resident of or employed in Burlington County.
  • Have a valid NJ Drivers license.
  • Have available transportation.
  • No criminal history.
  • No prior history as a defendant in a domestic violence related matter.
  • Be available to be on call a minimum of four times per month.
  • Have the ability to communicate well with others.
  • Be a good listener.
  • Have sensitivity to victims' feelings and concerns.
  • Possess a desire to help others.
  • Be available to participate in initial and ongoing domestic violence training program.
