Winter Weather Reminders
Residents and Business Owners,
In advance of the predicted winter weather this evening, the following is a friendly reminder of township policies during snow and ice events. Your cooperation is appreciated to ensure our Public Works department can properly salt and plow roadways as needed.
- Parking is prohibited on public roads, streets, right-of-ways or other improved road surfaces used by motorized vehicles and maintained by the Township when snow and/or ice is predicted or when roads are snow and/or ice covered. Off-street parking shall be permitted for 48 hours during such weather events in the following parking areas: Mansfield Community Park, Country Walk Recreation Area Parking Lot, Georgetown Park in the Mapleton Development. Lawn parking will be permitted for 48 hours following the conclusion of the storm event. (Mansfield Township Code § 60-20.A)
- Vehicles parked on the roadways during a weather event will be subject to violations and penalties. (Mansfield Township Code § 60-20.B)
- Basketball hoops and other equipment placed in the right-of-way is prohibited. (Mansfield Township Code § 49-21)
- Snow and ice shall be cleared from sidewalks and public access paths or routes or shall be made safely passable by the occupant within 24 hours of the end of a storm. (Mansfield Township Code § 25-7.C)
- Blowing or shoveling snow from private property onto roadways is prohibited. (Mansfield Township Code § 49-13)
